From a young age, I was deeply involved, joining at just 10 years old to work alongside my dad and learning the values of hard work, dedication, and meticulous attention to detail. Together, we built a reputation rooted in quality and integrity. After years of growth and experience, we rebranded with a new name and image, emerging as Golden Rule Landscaping, a leader in the industry. Our commitment remains steadfast—to transform outdoor spaces with professionalism, care, and pride in every project, ensuring our clients experience the highest standards of service and craftsmanship.
Tribute to Mr. Lavender – Mentor, Hero, Devil Dog
September 10, 1935 – April 8, 2025
Today, I honor a man who helped shape the very foundation of who I am. Mr. Lavender wasn’t just a war hero—he was a mentor, a leader, and a living example of what it means to live by a code. He taught me the meaning of hard work, respect, and above all else—integrity.
He first noticed me mowing lawns as a little boy under the name "Amigos." Even then, pushing a mower bigger than I was, he saw something in me. He didn’t just offer praise—he offered guidance. He became a steady hand in my life, mentoring me through the years and helping me grow from a neighborhood kid into a man of purpose.
As a young boy, I looked up to him not just for his bravery, but for his wisdom and patience. He didn’t just tell me how to work—he showed me how to be a man. His words still echo in my life and business today.
Before he left this world, Mr. Lavender left me with one final gift—a name, a mission, and a legacy:

Rest in peace, Devil Dog. You may be gone, but your impact lives on in every lawn we mow, every flower bed we shape, and every customer we serve with pride.
